Important:
After operation under timer control or cancelling timer control prema-
turely, you cannot activate the timer again without switching to timer setting mode
first (pressing the AUTO button twice, quickly). This will prevent the appliance from
starting unexpectedly at an undesired time. The timer will only take over control with
the AUTO button illuminated blue! If you wish to start timer operation again at the
same time, in standby mode, quickly press the AUTO button twice to display the
set starting time (see: “Setting the Starting Time”). After this action, you can activate
the timer again.
Note:
Even with the timer activated, you can start operation manually at any time you
like. Simply press the ON/OFF button. The AUTO button goes out and the ON/
OFF button illuminates. The timer will be deactivated.
AFTER EACH USAGE
Wet coffee powder may quickly go mouldy, if left within the filter basket. Thus, after
each usage, you should remove the filter bag and coffee ground, and rinse the filter
basket and carafe with hot water thoroughly. However, before removing the filter
basket, leave the appliance cool down for at least 15 minutes. This time for cooling
will be sufficient also to ensure that the warming plate will not be hot any longer, if
the filled carafe is not placed on it.
Note:
With residues of coffee ground on the filter support or carafe lid, or within the cara-
fe, you should always clean the appliance thoroughly (see: “Care and Cleaning”).
1. After usage, ensure to switch off the appliance (ON/OFF button gets dark) and
leave the appliance cool down for approx. 15 minutes.
2. Grasp the filter cover by the handle and pull the filter cover out from under the
brewing arm.
3. Grasp the handle of the filter basket and turn the filter basket counter-clockwise
until it unlocks perceptibly from the filter support. Then pull the filter basket out
from under the brewing arm. Discard the filter bag and coffee ground in domestic
waste.
4. Slide the drip speed control to the fully open position (1.25). Then rinse the filter
basket and overflow opening in the filter basket thoroughly with hot water. Addi-
tionally, rinse the filter cover.
5. After emptying the carafe, rinse the carafe and carafe lid with hot water.
