Problem
Possible Reason
The Solution
The filter bag used does not
fit into the filter basket.
Only use coffee filter bags size 4. Too small filter bags
could overflow whereas too large filter bags cannot be
spread out within the filter basket correctly and could
collapse.
WARNING:
Do not use too large filter bags. Other-
wise, the filter bag could block the overflow opening in
the filter basket. As a consequence, hot liquid could run
out at the exterior of the filter basket causing high risk of
scalds and damage.
The permeability of the filter
bag used is not sufficient.
Only use filter bags designated for coffee filtering. If
required, try filter bags offered by another manufacturer.
Too much coffee powder in
the filter basket.
Reduce the amount of coffee powder. At the maximum,
fill the filter bag up to half height.
The coffee ground is too fine.
The water does not flow suf-
ficiently.
Select another grind size. The coffee powder must be
ground medium to coarse. When purchasing per-ground
coffee, ensure that the coffee powder is suited for drip
coffee makers.
There is a gap between water
tank and water tank lid. The
water tank lid wobbles or falls
into the water tank.
The water tank lid is not in
correct orientation.
There is a broad groove at the rim of the water tank lid.
With the water tank lid placed in correct orientation on
the water tank, the brewing arm will slide into this groo-
ve. Turn the water tank lid to the correct orientation and
try again.
The brewing arm tilts or falls
when removing the filter
cover or filter basket.
The brewing arm is not instal-
led correctly at the riser pipe.
For operation, the brewing arm must always
be fixed firmly on the riser pipe and protrude
horizontally from the water tank, even wit-
hout any further support.
Ensure to position the
large intake opening of the brewing arm over the silicone
seal on top of the riser pipe and then press down the
brewing arm to fix it. There may be no gab between the
brewing arm and the riser pipe.
The silicone seal at the top of
the riser pipe is damaged.
Get in contact with an authorized service centre for exa-
mination and repair. During cleaning the appliance, and
when assembling or disassembling the brewing arm,
ensure not to damage the silicone seal.
DO NOT operate the appliance with the
brewing arm mounted only loosely on the
riser pipe!
