solution and rinse all removable parts under running tap water. Over a sink, turn
the appliance upside down to remove any residues of descaling solution from
the water system.
10. Fill approx. 0.5 litres of clear, cold tap water into the water tank and thereafter
turn the appliance upside down over the sink again to rinse the water system.
Reassemble the appliance (see: “Assembling the Appliance”).
11. Fill the water tank up to the maximum filling level (1.25) with clear, cold tap
water and, without filter bag and coffee powder, switch ON the coffee machi-
ne. Wait until the water tank is completely empty, then discard the water in the
carafe.
12. Repeat step 11 twice. Thereafter, the coffee machine is ready for operation
again.

WARNING:
Young children must be supervised that they do not play with the
appliance or any part or accessory of it. When the appliance is not in use, always
switch OFF (the ON/OFF button gets dark), and unplug the appliance. Always
leave the appliance cool down, before cleaning or storing the appliance. Only
store the appliance where it is protected against inadmissible strain (e.g. moisture,
electric or mechanic shock, frost, direct sunlight) and out of reach of young children.
CAUTION:
Always remove the carafe from the appliance, before moving the
appliance. Otherwise, the carafe could fall. Do not grasp the appliance at the
brewing arm, water tank, filter basket, filter holder, or power cord for moving it.
Instead, grasp the appliance at both sides at the base for moving it. Ensure to store
the appliance in upright position where it is clean, frost-free, and dry. Do not place
any hard or heavy objects on or in the appliance or any part of it. The power cord
may not be knotted, squeezed or bent. Do not pull or strain the power cord.
1. Switch OFF (ON/OFF button gets dark) and unplug the appliance. Leave the
appliance cool down completely and clean the appliance and all parts and
accessories (see: “Care and Cleaning”).
2. If you wish to store the appliance for an extended period of time, you should
descale the appliance first (see: “Descaling”).
3. Thereafter, remove the carafe, grasp the appliance at both sides at the bottom
of the base, and place the appliance on a suitable surface. Lay the power cord
loosely around the appliance.
