Power Supply of the BENZING M1 in the Fancier’s Loft
The power supply of the BENZING M1 can be provided in various ways.
Power Supply via M1 Fancier Cable for Loft Antennas:
The power supply for the BENZING M1 at the loft is provided by connecting the BENZING
M1 Power Supply Unit to the DB-9 plug of the M1 Fancier Cable. See also figures 3.1 to 3.4.
Socket at the BENZING M1:
The provided BENZING M1 Power Supply Unit can be connected to the socket
of the
BENZING M1 to supply the BENZING M1 with power.
If you use BENZING M1 with hardware before Version 5 no loft antennas can
be used when the socket of the BENZING M1 is used for power supply. The
power supply to the antennas by means of the BENZING M1 is impossible.
Power Supply via the BENZING Station:
When using a BENZING Station, the station will supply the BENZING M1 with power as soon
as the BENZING M1 is plugged into the station. The BENZING Station itself is supplied with
power with the power supply unit of the BENZING M1.
Battery Mode:
The BENZING M1 can be operated with two 1.5 V AA batteries (alkali). Use only leak proof
batteries!
In battery mode the BENZING M1 is independent of an external power supply. Yet, several
functions cannot be realized in the battery mode. The nomination of pigeons and the
display of various lists are possible, but loft antennas cannot be connected, or respectively
operated. Thus, also the registration of arriving pigeons is impossible in battery mode.
To turn on the BENZING M1 the ‘Start’ key
has to be pressed. If the batteries are
almost empty, a request for changing the batteries will be indicated directly after the
BENZING M1 is turned on. Although the BENZING M1 can still be operated for a short time
you should exchange the batteries as fast as possible.
To turn off the device the ‘Start’ key has to be kept pressed for 3 seconds.
