Replacement Routines
Replacing the System Board
Ê
Swing the processor holder in its initial position and close the locking lever.
Open and close the lever slowly until it snaps in the hook.
V
CAUTION!
The processor holder must fall down by itself. Do not close with force,
because soldering pads may be damaged.
Ê
Check the thermal grease on the heat sink. It may not show any spots and
contamination.
Ê
Carefully put the heat sink on the processor socket, paying attention to the
correct position (for description see the Technical Manual for the system
board D1859).
Ê
Tighten the four screws crosswise if possible with a torque of 0.6 NM
(figure 27).
Figure 27: Fastening the heat sink
Follow the following steps:
1. Turn screw no.1 two/three turns, then will be no tension on the processor
when tightening the next screws.
2. Tighten screws no. 2, 3 and 4 in this order, according to the figure 27.
3. Tighten screw no.1 finally.
Ê
Check the heat sink: a small piece paper should fit between the springs (a).
Ê
Mount the memory modules onto the new system board (for description see
the Technical Manual for the system board D1859).
