TURBOTEST 500B User’s Guide
REFERENCE NOT VERIFIED
The TURBOTEST
500B is unable to
verify the reference
cable value.
Clean all fiber optic connectors again.
If operating in TURBO mode, perform the reference setup procedures
again. Refer to Section 4
If operating in OLTS mode, perform the reference setup procedures
again. Refer to Section 6
With properly cleaned or
newly supplied APC/UPC
reference cables, the unit
does not show close to
14.6 dB of return loss.
Unit needs to be
referenced to the
test cable.
Perform the reference procedure again for terminating the fiber
around the mandrel. Select a single wavelength mode and remove
any mandrel wraps on the test cable.
Press the MENU key to access the “[MAIN MENU]” screen.
Select REFERENCES > ORL - 14.6 dB, then press SET.
The unit will display the return loss value within 0.2 dB of 14.6 dB
at the selected wavelengths. The unit is now referenced to the test
cable at the selected wavelength.
Can't transfer data to a PC. Incomplete or
improper setup.
Confirm that the data to be transferred from the TURBOTEST 500B
is retrieved from the proper test mode.
Verify that the PC software is ready to receive that data transfer.
Confirm that the transfer cable is connected properly.
Verify that the selected COM Port option is the same as that of the
transfer cable connection on the computer port.
Unable to power up
while operating from the
rechargeable batteries.
The internal battery
is extremely low on
charge
Power the TURBOTEST 500B from the AC power.
Or
Recharge the internal battery. Refer to the section titled “Battery
Maintenance” on page 62 for additional information.
Unable to print from PC
software.
The computer may
be connected to a
network.
Log-off the network.
