7 Attach the reference cable that is connected to the OPM Port to the fiber under test (Fiber #1).
8 Attach the reference cable that is connected to the Test Port to the second fiber under test (Fiber
#2).
9 The display will now show a loss measurement of the fiber link (Fiber #1).
10 Press the [SAVE] soft key to save the measurement(s) in the next available memory location.
11 To save test results in a specific memory location, perform the following steps:
• Press either [UP] or [DOWN] arrow key to select a specific memory location (increase/decrease fiber #).
• Press the [SAVE] soft key to store test results in the selected location.
Once saved, test results can later be retrieved (refer to the section titled “Reviewing Saved TURBO Test
Results”, page 31).
Do the following to the Optical Power Meter
12 At the far end, the loss of the fiber link (Fiber #2) is displayed on the OPM. Press the [STORE] key
to save the loss data in the next available memory location.
Note:
Swap fibers and repeat for bi-directional test results.
Repeat the procedures described in this section to continue testing insertion loss of additional fiber
links.
