Transmission
Parking
Firmly apply the park brake, switch the
ignition off and remove the key. Shift
the gear lever into 1st if facing uphill or
Reverse if facing downhill. Ensure the
gear is fully engaged. Release the clutch
after the engine stops.
The catalytic converter becomes
extremely hot during engine operation
and continues to radiate heat after the
engine is turned off.
WARNING
Do not park, idle or drive your
vehicle in dry grass or other dry
ground cover. The emission system
heats up the engine compartment and
exhaust system, which can start a fi re.
DRIVING WITH
AN AUTOMATIC
TRANSMISSION
All petrol (and most LPG) automatic
vehicles are fi tted with 6 speed
automatic transmission. Depending
of specifi cation, some LPG vehicles
are fi tted with the 4 speed automatic
transmission. Please see the end of this
section for the special features available
from each automatic transmission type.
Operation
The automatic transmission can be
operated in 3 different modes:
• Adaptive Automatic Mode ( D )
• Performance Automatic Mode ( S )
• Manual Mode ( +/- )
Gear selection
To select a gear, depress the button
(1) and move selector to the desired
position (2).
P = Park
This position should only be
selected when the vehicle is
stationary.
