The type of saturated oxygen measured with a pulse oximeter.

cardiovascular
condition characterized by an excessively rapid heartbeat.
venous
1. Of or pertaining to a vein or veins.
2. Returning to the heart through the great veins.
ventricle
A small anatomical cavity or chamber in the heart, although also the brain. Used in
context of this manual, ventricle refers to (a), the chamber on the left side of the heart that
receives arterial blood from the left atrium and contracts to drive it into the aorta; and (b)
the chamber on the right side of the heart that receives venous blood from the right atrium
and drives it into the pulmonary artery.
