Closing the Pod Case
3-14.
After installing or changing the internal or external modules
in
the Pod, push
the back panel
back
into
the
Pod
case.
Make sure the ROM Module
and
Sync Module cables are inserted properly into the
slot on
the top of the
panel. Tighten the thumbscrews
by
pressing them in
and
turning clockwise.
CONNECTING THE POD TO THE MAINFRAME
3-15.
Before performing a Pod Self Test or using the Pod to troubleshoot a UUT,
connect the Pod to
the
Mainframe as follows:
1.
Check that the Mainframe
is
OFF.
2.
Connect
the
Pods
round shielded cable to the Mainframe at the
location shown in Figure
3-5.
Secure the connector using the sliding
collar,

Figure 3-5.
Connection
of
the
Interface Pod
to the
Mainframe
USING POD SELF TEST
3-16.
The built-in Pod self test
can be used as
a guide to determine which section
of the Pod’s circuitry may
be
failing.
The 9132A Service Test
can
then
further isolate
the
cause of the failure. Perform
the
self test and use
the
self
test failure code
(as shown in
Table
3-2)
to isolate the probable failing
circuit block.
NOTE
A
standard Personality Module (such as the 80386,
68020, etc.) must
be
installed
in
the
Pod before
performing self
test.
Pod self test does not function
when the Test
Personality Module is installed.
