Method: Hydrazine -02A (0-200 ppb)
HYDRAZINE IN BOILER WATER
RANGE: 0-200 ppb (ug/l)
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The automated procedure for the determination of
hydrazine is based on the reaction with pdimethy-
laminobenzaldehyde in an acid medium to form p-
dimethylaminobenzaldehyde hydrazone. The yellow
color is measured at 460 nm.

OPERATING NOTES
1. Where Particulate matter is present, the solution
must be filtered prior to the determination. The
sample stream must be clarified before being intro-
duced to the system with an on-line filter
such as Rosemount Analytical’s IF-100 (part #180-
1400-01).

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The automated procedure for the determination of sol-
uble phosphate depends on well-known chemistry
whereby ammonium molybdate reacts in an acid
medium to form molybdophosphoric acid. This is sub-
sequently reduced to the molybdenum blue complex
by reaction with ascorbic acid.

OPERATING NOTES
1. The ammonium molybdate must be made up in
transparent flasks. The reagent should be clear. If
it has any blue color, it should be rejected. Also, it
should be free of precipitates
after a peri-
od of standing.
2. The sample stream must be clarified before being
introduced to the system with an on-line filter such
as Rosemount Analytical’s IF-100 (part #180-1400-
01).
