9.3 MULTI-STREAM ANALYSIS
A microprocessor based valve switching system can be
installed to allow analysis of multiple sample streams.
With one centrally located instrument, up to six sample
streams can be automatically analyzed.
The analyzer automatically cycles through all sample
streams, analyzing each for a user selectable 0 to 999
minutes. Or stream selection can be made manually.
Separate high and low alarm levels may also be set for
each stream.
9.3.1 INSTALLATION
If the analyzer is ordered as a Multi-Stream Analyzer, no
further installation is required. If upgrading to multi-
stream analyzer from a single-stream analyzer, follow
the installation steps below:
9.3.1.1 Multi-Stream Circuit Board
Multi-stream analysis requires additional micro-proces-
sor capability over single stream analysis. To install the
additional circuit board:
1. Turn Main Power OFF.
2. Circuit boards are located behind the keypad
panel. Access by removing thumbscrews from
right side of keypad panel and opening door.
3. The multi-stream circuit board slot (color-coded
purple) is the second from left.

.
4. Hold circuit board with card connector away from
you and components on the right side of board (do
not touch!)
5. Carefully slide board into place in its slot. Press
firmly to seat connector.
9.3.1.2 Keypad Panel and Display Board
Assembly
The keypad for multi-stream analysis has three addi-
tional buttons over the standard keypad:
set multi-
stream
,
auto. multi-stream
and
man. multi-stream
.
These buttons allow set-up and control of the the multi-
ple sample sequence. To install the new keypad panel
and display board assembly:
1. Disconnect CPU board ribbon cable from CPU
board (board clips are color coded yellow).
2. Holding onto keypad panel remove remaining two
thumbscrews and nuts from left side of keypad.
Set single stream keypad and board aside.
3. Place multi-stream keypad panel and board on
door hinge and secure with two thumbscrews and
nuts.
4. Connect ribbon cable from lower edge of display
board to the CPU board.

5. Connect ribbon cable from side edge of display
board to tope small front connector on multi-stream
board.

6. Connect small black connector to multi-stream
board.
