4.9 FLUIDICS
Set up system fluidics as follows:
1. Place colorimeter inlet tubing into the flow cell inlet
( see Figures 4-3 and 3-6 ).
2. Guide colored reagent straws and sample line from
right side of pump tubing harness through reagent
access hole in floor of main cabinet.
3. Pass sample intake tubing (tube from bottom of
solenoid valve #1) through hole in upper right cor-
ner of reagent cabinet and connect to top of over-
flow tube assembly.
4. Connect sample pump tubing (clear tube from
pump tubing harness labeled sample, with no col-
ored reagent straw) to left side outlet, common
port, of solenoid valve #1 by pressing tube onto
nipple.
See Figure 4-7.
If installing Silica analyzer, connect solenoid valve #3
(located on left wall of main cabinet) as follows:
1. Connect unconnected clear tube with orange
stripes from reaction vessel assembly to the bottom
or NO port of solenoid valve #3.
See Figure 4-8.
2. Connect tube from common port C of solenoid
valve #3 to the molybdate position on the quick dis-
connect. The molybdate tube position is located
between the sulfuric and oxalic lines on the lock
end of the quick disconnect fitting. (There will be an
open space for the tube.)
See Figure 4-6.
3. Place tube from top of solenoid valve #3, NC posi-
tion, into waste tube.
4.10 REAGENTS
1. Remove screw caps from reagent bottles.
2. Using an awl, make two holes in the inner cap - a
small hole for an air vent and a larger hole for the
reagent straw.
3. Place one gallon bottle of baseline solution and
one liter bottle of fullscale standard in right side of
reagent cabinet.
4. Place baseline tubing and fullscale standard tubing
from solenoid valve #2 into appropriate bottles.
5. Place remaining reagent containers in reagent cab-
inet.
6. Insert the color coded reagent straws at ends of
pump tubing harness into larger hole punched in
the appropriate reagent bottles.
