SECTION 4
INSTALLATION
Terminals are provided for ground, power supply, hi/lo
alarms, output signals, and status signals.
Output signals – a voltage output of 0-5 VDC and a float-
ing, ungrounded current output of 4 - 20 mA are avail-
able for remote readout or control of a process.
Also available are contact closures for the following:
• High
Alarm
• Low Alarm
• Calibration
•
Lamp/Leak Fault
CAUTION
For proper operation and for safety, electri-
cal connections to this equipment must be
made in accordance with local or national
electrical code as applicable. This equip-
ment
must be grounded. Wiring this equip-
ment to an electrical circuit should be done
by a qualified electrician.
To make electrical connections, proceed as follows:
1. Remove solid caps from the holes above the
input/output panel by puncturing with an awl and
prying them out. (Note: Remove caps only from
those holes to be used.)
2. Replace with splits caps from the accessory kit.
WARNING
Connect output signals, if any, before con-
necting the power supply.
3. Connect alarms and external computer interfaces
(if any).
4. Feed 3-wire power cable into analyzer through left
hole above the input/output panel. Connect wires
to appropriate contacts on Terminal Strip 3.
NOTE
Use Romex connectors to hold cables
securely in holes above input/output panel.
4.6 COLORIMETER
The colorimeter assembly is designed to be easily
installed into the cabinet. To install, proceed as follows:
1. Slide colorimeter assembly into place in main cabi-
net (
See Figure 3-1
for location). Ensure electrical
connection by firmly pressing colorimeter into
place.
2. Secure colorimeter into place by tightening captive
thumbscrew beneath colorimeter.
3. Place colorimeter waste tubing from waste drain
pan into waste drain tube.
4.7 PUMP AND REACTION VESSEL
ASSEMBLY
Install pump and reaction vessel assembly into main cab-
inet as follows:
1. Holding pump assembly at a 45 degree angle, lift it
into bottom of main cabinet.
2. Align hinge pins and slide pump assembly as far
as possible to the right. Pump will remain secure in
angled position.
See Figure 4-4.
3. Remove tape securing thermometer in hole in top
of reaction vessel assembly.
4. Insert heating bath connector into left positive fit
receptacle in main cabinet.
See Figure 4-5.
