Connecting the Print Controller X4(AR-PE1)
Connecting to the network
Print Controller X4(AR-PE1) network support is provided through the Ethernet board.
The Ethernet board10/100BaseT connector is located at slot 6 on the back panel.
Supported Ethernet board cabling includes 10/100BaseT unshielded twisted pair. For
additional network information, see the
Configuration Guide
.
Token Ring compatibility is available with the optional Token Ring kit (see the
documentation included with that kit for more information).

1.
Power off the Print Controller X4(AR-PE1) before connecting it to any network device.
If the system has just finished processing, wait 5 seconds after the system reaches the idle
state before using the power switch to power off the unit.
2.
Connect the network cable to the RJ-45 connector on the back of the
Print Controller X4(AR-PE1).
A Category 5 unshielded twisted pair cable network cable must be used for 100BaseT.
