“Checking the copier interface” on page 5-14 explains how to print the Test Page from
the Print Controller X4(AR-PE1). “Checking network connections” on page 5-15
includes guidelines for checking the network connections between the
Print Controller X4(AR-PE1) and the computers or workstations to which it is
connected, and also provides information on printing problems.
Where problems occur
The Print Controller X4(AR-PE1) is a server for color copiers, and it is generally part of a
configuration like the one shown below and in Figure 5-2 on page 5-3. Problems may
occur in one of three areas:
• Inside the Print Controller X4(AR-PE1)
• In the interface between the Print Controller X4(AR-PE1) and the copier
• In the interface between the Print Controller X4(AR-PE1) and the workstations or
computers to which it is connected

This chapter does not attempt to provide troubleshooting information for attached
computers such as PCs or Mac OS computers, for color copiers, or for extensive
networks. You should refer problems in these areas to the appropriate service departments
and network administrators.
