REPLACE
THE
CD-ROM
DRIVE
1.
If you are replacing the CD-ROM drive with a new drive, remove the thumb clips from the
sides of the old drive. Install the clips on the new drive by inserting the tabs into the
screw holes on the drive.

Slide the drive into the bottom large slot in the tray and push it in until the thumb clips
click into place.
Make sure the IDE setting for the CD-ROM drive is set to slave.
3.
Replace any tie wraps that you removed earlier.
4.
Connect the power supply cable to its connector on the back of the CD-ROM drive.
5.
Connect the IDE cable to its connector on the back of the drive.
6.
Reassemble the Print Controller X4(AR-PE1) (see “Restoring
Print Controller X4(AR-PE1) functionality after service” on page 4-11).
