20 - GSM1010/MA CPE Management
This section deals with managing a GSM1010/MA remote CPE, connected via fiber to
a GSM1010M Master Unit, through either the serial connection or a Telnet connection.
The GSM1010/MA main menu is reached through the ‘Remote device’ option in the
‘Link management’ menu of GSM1010M device.
The main menu
This menu contains a header with the master system’s name (GSM1010M), to which
the GSM1010/MA is connected. The main menu enables the user to display the
device’s status (1) or to enter the device’s control menu (2).

The CPE’s status (figure - 2) contains the following information:

Link status (FO port and TP port)
•
Signal detect status (FO port)
•
Device enabled
•
LST mode
•
Loop back (LB) mode (FO port)

CPE control

he CPE’s control menu (figure - 3) provides with options to control:
•
Set the channel’s description (channel=device)
•
Invoke the LB/LST control menu (figure - 4)
•
Set the link’s upstream BW (0 – 1000Mbps, in 10Mbps increments)
•
Enable/disable channel (device)
•
Restore device’s default configuration
