6. SNMP Management
You can monitor and control your GSM1010M media converter using SNMP with a
management station. This station must have a management application and it should
be connected to the converter through an In-Band network connection. This connection
is achieved through either ports (TP or FO) of the device (this may depend on
configuration). Please note that a successful installation in previous section eliminates
the need to perform any special actions here.
After the converter and management station are connected and running you will be
able to manage your converter through the SNMP manager application.
Use the management application to view the devices general information (figure 4) or
the MIB tree for detailed status (figure 5) and remote devices’ details (figure 6). In
order to monitor the converter’s status you should open the following branch of the
tree:
