Information relating to installing the bus node can be found in
Part I of the product documentation entitled “Installation and
Interface manual”, which is supplied with the bus node.
•
Compare your cable lengths with the technical data in the
Attachment and the recommendation in the CiA specifica-
tion (
Tab. 2/8).

Test the fieldbus communication using the object direct-
ory (
Appendix A.4).
Normal status LED MNS-LED is off and I/O-LED illuminates green (in operational
mode).
MNS-LED is off and I/O-LED is off (if no fieldbus communica-
tion).
6.1.5 Check DeviceNet configuration
Problem description: Process data are defective.
Remedy Proceed as follows:
1. Check whether the I/O mapping matches the controller
settings ( Appendix A.4).
2. Check whether the bus node status, e.g. operational
mode, matches the controller settings ( Section 5.2.5).
Problem description: Outputs do not switch to the desired state if fieldbus commu-
nication is disrupted.
Remedy Proceed as follows:
1. Check whether fail state mode or idle state mode is activ-
ated in the controller.
This ensures that the bus node can detect disrupted field-
bus communication and that the outputs are set to a
defined state after fieldbus communication is restored
(network communication).
