Release the Reset/Save switch. A
single beep should be heard, switch 9 and 10 LED’s
should be illuminated, and the Reset/Save LED
should still be flashing, to indicate that the system is
in the configuration mode.
4.
The three options now available are as
follows:
a.
Pressing switch 9 will activate
the Level 1 Configuration mode (keyboard configura-
tion selection).
b.
Pressing switch 10 will activate
the Level 2 Configuration mode (individual switch
configuration).
c.
Pressing the Reset/Save switch
will save the present configuration and exit configu-
ration mode.

Proceed to Level 1 Configuration.

Level 1 Configuration.
NOTE
A short beep sounds when a switch is pressed
and a second short beep sounds when the
switch is released.

See figure 2-1. Press switch 9 to enter
the Level 1 Configuration mode. The Reset/Save LED
should still be flashing. The LED (2 through 8) which
corresponds to the keyboard configuration (2 through
8) currently selected will illuminate. (Keyboard
Configuration 2 is the default.) Refer to Section I for
keyboard configuration descriptions.
NOTE
The Reset/Save LED will remain flashing
while in the configuration mode.
2.
To change the keyboard configuration
to Keyboard Configuration 3 (POLICE B), proceed as
follows:
a.
See figure 2-2. Press switch 3.
Switch 2 LED will extinguish and switch 3 LED will
illuminate indicating Keyboard Configuration 3 is
selected.
b.
Press the Reset/Save switch to
save the keyboard configuration selection and exit
the Level 1 Configuration mode.

The control head display will now
indicate that the system is in the configuration mode.
The Reset/Save LED is flashing and switch 9 and 10
LED’s are illuminated. Again, the three available
options are as follows:
a.
Pressing switch 9 will activate
the Level 1 Configuration mode (keyboard configura-
tion selection).
b.
Pressing switch 10 will activate
the Level 2 Configuration mode (individual switch
configuration).
c.
Pressing the Reset/Save switch
will save the present configuration and exit configu-
ration mode.
4.
Return to Level 1 Configuration and
verify that Keyboard Configuration 3 is selected as
follows:
a.
Press switch 9. The Reset/Save
LED should be flashing and the switch 3 LED should
be illuminated indicating Keyboard Configuration 3
is the currently selected keyboard configuration.
b.
Leave Keyboard Configuration 3
selected. Press the Reset/Save switch to exit the
Level 1 Configuration mode.
5.
Press the Reset/Save switch again to
exit the configuration mode. A longer beep will sound
and the Reset/Save LED will change from flashing to
steady illumination indicating the system is ready for
use.
6.
Refer to Section I Operation. Thor-
oughly test ALL functions to ensure that the selected
keyboard configuration (Keyboard Configuration 3)
operates the warning system as described.
7.
Repeat the Level 1 Configuration
process and testing for Keyboard Configurations 4, 5,
6, 7, and 8.
