D.2. Periodic Maintenances
There are periodic maintenance operations that must
be carried out every workday, at the end of each work
week, at the end of each seeding season and every 4
years in order to use the product we purchased for long
years.
It is strongly recommended to implement these
maintenance operations regularly and completely.
D.2.1.
Safety Measures to be taken during
Maintenance and to be observed
1.
Disconnect the grain drill’s tractor, electrical,
mechanical
and
hydraulic
connections
before
maintenance, repair and cleaning.
2.
If maintenance is to be carried out with the coulters
are lifted, place safety supports capable of bearing the
weight under the coulters.
3.
Always use appropriate gloves and equipment when
replacing parts with sharp surfaces and edges.
4.
Caution! Fire Hazard:
Clean the oily parts if repair is to be carried out on the
drill with electrical or gas metal arc welding. Do not
apply welding on the parts that cannot be cleaned.
5.
Supply the original manufacturer-specific parts.
Prefer the brands and products having TSE certificate for
commercial spare parts (such as bolts, nuts, chains,
etc.).
