C.2.3 Depth Adjustment Rings
Seeding depth is adjusted by the limitation of the piston
stroke by the depth limiting rings on the depth
adjustment mechanism.
The depth adjustment mechanism has 12 depth
adjustment rings moving independently from each other.
These rings are adjusted by opening from top to bottom
subsequently or closing from bottom to top
subsequently.
Each ring affects the seeding depth by 1.2 cm under
average conditions depending on the soil structure,
slope coulters of the machine and coulters.
The seeding depth is 0 (zero) cm when all the rings are
in closed position. Seed is not embedded in this
position. It is left on the soil surface and covered by
harrows. It is preferred when planting very small seeds.
After this position, each ring opened from the top
increases the seeding depth by 1.2 cm.
The seeding depth reaches to 12 cm which is the
maximum when 10 rings are open. However, given the
seed types that can be planted with your grain drill,
there is no seed achieving this depth so this adjustment
is not recommended.
IMPORTANT:
The last two rings are placed as
precautionary in relation to the slope adjustment of
the coulters. Do not open the last 2 rings during
normal use to protect the telescopic seed hoses.
IMPORTANT:
When adjusting the depth, the rings
must be closed from bottom to top in correct order
and ensure that all the rings under the ring closed
remain in closed position.
If the rings are started to be closed from top, the
limiting flange will crush the depth adjustment rings
and make them damaged and useless with the
downward movement of the lift.
