Use of Crank Handle

Adjustment Example:

Let us plan wheat plantation with our FDD 3000 grain
drill having a working width of 3 meters:

Slide Covers:

to 2. position

Throttles:

to B position

Gears:

to 3. Position

In the Step 8 (when we rotate the crank handle by 20
complete turns), we scale the seeds dropped into the
test container.

Assume that 3.50 kg of seeds are dropped into the test
container.

We obtain the amount of seed to be spread per

hectare

when we multiply the amount of seed we found with the
coefficient of the machine we used as given in the table.

Accordingly:

Seed scaled X coefficient = seed to be spread per

hectare

3.50 kg X

115

 (coefficient for FDD 3000) =

402.5

kg

With this adjustment our grain drill will spread

402.5

kg

seeds per

hectare.

***

If we had FDD 2500 grain drill having a working
width of 2.5 meters under the same conditions:

3.50 kg X

140

 (coefficient for FDD 2500) =

490

kg

we would obtain the amount of seed to be spread
per

hectare

 above.

If we desire to increase the spread amount in this case, we
should switch the adjusting arm on the variable-speed
transmission to a higher value and to a lower value if we
desire to decrease.

Note:

Before starting to rotate the adjusting arm, remove

the clearance on the arm and take care to finish the
turns at the initial point.
