C.1.2. Hopper Adjustments
Hopper adjustments are determined according to the
physical structure, size and row spacing requirement of
the seed to be planted.
Hopper and throttle adjustments positively or negatively
affect the seeding norm (amount of seed to be spread).
However, the primary objective of the hopper adjustments
is not setting the spread norm but maintaining the spread
adjustments made in any circumstances.
A proper seeding adjustment is one of the prerequisites of
a successful seeding and enables the seed to reach the
soil with maximum uniformity and stability as possible
without damaging the seed used.

Therefore, the hopper adjustment to be made by taking
the account of seed type and structure before starting
seeding remains effective until the seeding is completed.
C.1.2.1. Slide Cover Adjustment
Slide Cover is a slide-shaped plastic part that is
positioned between the box and hopper and that limits
the flow rate of the seed in the box to the hopper. It is
moved by sliding upwards
– downwards and has 4
positions:
There are 3 stops when the slide cover is pulled upwards
in closed position. Since the hopper inlet has to be
narrowed as the fluidity of seed and fertilizer increases
and extended when decreases as basic principle,
If the slide cover is closed completely, no seed flows
from such coulter. Row spacing can be changed with
this method.
The slide covers on the hoppers should be adjusted
according to the seed to be planted. The stops and
usage areas are listed below:
• Closed position:
It is achieved by pressing the slide
cover until reaching the end point. In this position, the slide
cover closes the flow gap completely and fertilizer flow
stops. If the fertilizer flow in a coulter is desired to be
stopped, i.e. if such coulter is to be cancelled, the slide
cover on the coulter is switched to this position.
