NOTE: before you check the motor oil, wait a
few minutes for it to settle. Do not screw in the
motor oil fill cap (dipstick) “1” when checking
the oil.
ATTENTION:
- the engine oil also lubricates the clutch. The
wrong oil or chemical additives may cause
the clutch to slip. Therefore, do not add
chemical additives or use motor oil a grade
of “CD” “C” or higher and do not use oil with
the label “ENERGY CONSERVING II” “d”.
- Do not allow foreign material to enter the
crankcase.
Start the engine and let it warm up for a few
minutes. Then turn it off.
Check the motor oil again.
NOTE: before you check the motor oil, wait a
few minutes for it to settle.
CHANGING MOTOR OIL
Start the engine and let it warm up for a few
minutes. Then turn it off.
Place a container under the oil drain bolt.
Remove the motor oil fill cap (dipstick) “1”, the
motor oil cap “2”, the O-ring “3”, the spring “4”
and the motor oil filter.
Completely drain the motor oil from the crank-
case.
If the filter also needs to be replaced, pro-
ceed as follows:
remove the cover of the oil filter “1” and the oil
filter “2”. Install a new O-ring “3”. Then install the
new oil filter and the oil filter cover.
Check motor oil filter. If it is dirty it will need to
be cleaned.
Re-install the spring, the new O-ring and the oil
drain cap.
Fill the crankcase with the recommended
amount of motor oil.
AMOUNT OF OIL
Total quantity: 1.15L (1.22 US qt) (1.01 Imp. qt)
Without changing the oil filter:
0.95L (1.00 US qt) (0.84 Imp. qt)
Changing the oil filter:
1.00L (1.06 US qt) (0.88 Imp. qt).
Re-insert the motor oil fill pipe cap.
Start the engine and let it warm up for a few min-
utes. Then turn it off.
Check the engine for leakage of motor oil. Refer to
“LEVEL CHECK” for the motor oil level.
Also check the motor oil pressure.
