8.2.2.
Horn thread stripper plug setting.
After passing through the emulsion in the container, the thread then passes through a rubber stripper plug
with a center hole (n.2305) located in a housing just above the emulsion container. This stripper plug is used
to remove the excess emulsion on the thread, leaving only the quantity necessary for correct stitching
results.
To set the pressure of the stripper plug, tighten or loosen the stripper plug nut. (n. 2304).
8.2.3. Shuttle spool thread preparation.
To prepare the spool for the shuttle proceed as follows:
- Turn off the machine using the main switch and disconnect the machine cable from the
electricity supply.
- Remove the shuttle holder (n. 6310.00) using the tweezers supplied with the machine by forcing a
little on the blocking system.
- Remove the empty spool (n. 0748)
- Place the new spool in the spool holder and pull the thread end out through the center hole in
the spool holder.
- Replace the spool holder in its housing, remembering that the indentation on the side of the
spool holder must face downwards.
Warning:
- Machine threading must always be carried out with the machine stopped and the MAIN
SWITCH IN O POSITION, and with the machine cable disconnected.
- The upper part of the machine in the area around the shuttle is heated. Avoid touching
this area. For maintenance operations, wait till the shuttle area has cooled down before
beginning work.
- Before beginning the work cycle, wait until the shuttle has reached the temperature set on the
thermostat.
- Never start up the machine without first having placed the article to be stitched between the
horn tip and the presser foot.
- Operators should never intervene in the needle shuttle area for repairs or maintenence without
first switching off the machine (MAIN SWITCH IN O POSITION) and having disconnected the
machine cable from the electricity supply.
Rules for correct functioning:
For the spool, any type of thread can be used as log as it is one strand thicker than the thread used on the
horn.
