Thermal protection
The UPS unit has been equipped with thermal protection to protect the device
against overheating.
This thermal protection operates in two stages. If the internal temperature
approaches the critical temperature level, acoustic warning signal starts to sound and
a suitable warning message appears on the display. The UPS unit continues to
operate in the selected mode. If the temperature continues to increase, when the
critical temperature has been reached, a suitable alarm message is displayed and
the UPS unit switches over to the EMERGENCY mode.
EPO
The Remote Emergency Power Off (Remote EPO) functionality cuts the power
supply from the UPS output to loads in extreme situations or in emergency (e.g. fire).
In such circumstances the unit is switched to the EMERGENCY mode.
The mechanism can be actuated in two ways:
– by opening/breaking the contacts of the external EPO connection (trigger),
– by overriding switching effected from the user interface (CONTROL 1/4;
EmergencyPowerOff).
Output voltage will be restored only after the user’s intervention to reset the trigger (in
case of remote trigger activation) to the non-active position (the normal trigger state),
and to subsequently cancel the alert flag (CONTROL 3/4; ClearIncFault).
For the duration of an EPO trigger device, it is possible to temporarily disable the
EPO functionality. Then, the technician can remove the EPO connector without
risking the interruption of power supply to the loads. This operation may take more
than 1 minute from the setting of the check flag (CONTROL 2/4; TempDeactEPO).
After this time the deactivation lock becomes automatically switched off.
The EPO connection contacts show safe voltage levels isolated from the remaining
UPS unit systems.
CAUTION!
The EPO circuit must be a separate (dedicated) circuit
and it is not allowed to connect this circuit with other systems or
installations.
