HYBRID Mode (MIXED)
In the HYBRID mode the UPS unit supplies power to the output using the
inverter system (but only after power from the power lines with incorrect parameters
has been suitably transformed
– a wide voltage range – supplementing in this way
the missing power from batteries).
ECO Mode (ECONOMY)
This mode is not available for units configured to operate in the parallel or
redundant mode. Overriding switching by the user is effected when the ECO flag is
set (CONTROL 2/4; ECO, On). With the ECO flag set, the unit cannot operate in the
NORMAL nor in the HYBRID modes. For the UPS power supply unit to operate in the
ECO mode, the mains correctness criteria must be maintained both for the main lines
and the BYPASS line. If incorrect parameters appear for any of those lines, the UPS
unit will switch to the BATTERY mode. With the ECO flag being set, the UPS unit
operates in the way similar to an OFF-LINE type unit. When the unit operates in the
ECO mode, the unit output receives power from either the BYPASS line of from
the batteries (the BATTERY mode). The internal power/energy blocks are not
involved in transforming the power being drawn by consumers which means that the
UPS unit achieves higher efficiency.
WATCH Mode
The UPS unit has been switched on by the logic system (from the user interface),
and the mains meets the correctness criteria for the electrical power network. The
battery-saving functions and mechanisms are active. After the unit has been
switched from the STANDBY mode to the WATCH mode, the battery charge level will
be checked. If this level has dropped below the set limit (“CONFIGURATION 3/5;
STB Charge
”), the UPS unit remains in this mode until the required minimum level
has been reached.
STANDBY Mode
Switching to the STANDBY mode may only be effected from the BATTERY
mode in case of the batteries becoming discharged. This is achieved by overriding
switching from the user interface (CONTROL 2/4; UPS->STB) or from an external
management/control system. Switching to the STANDBY mode occurs after a pre-
determined (configured) period of time (CONFIGURATION 3/5; STB Delay).
