Please note that as soon as a single UPS unit has been disconnected from the
system, part of the supplied load that had been handled by the now disconnected
UPS will be divided/distributed among the remaining UPS units.
In order to disconnect a single UPS unit from the system, perform the following steps
in the given sequence.
1. Go to the control panel of the UPS unit due to be disconnected from the system
and select (CONFIGURATION 7/7; UnitTurnOff). After a UPS unit has been
disconnected from the system, it is not possible to restore this unit to operation
within the system without prior full start-up of the unit (disconnecting/deactivating
of the protections and restarting the protections).
2. Disconnect the communication leads from the UPS unit in question. Ensure that
the circuits remain properly closed for the units still in operation by connecting the
remaining UPS units in a loop.
3. For the duration of de-installation of the UPS unit disconnect any main line
and BYPASS line protections for this particular UPS unit in the switchgear in the
room or the building.
4. The F3 and F4 protection in the UPS unit should be moved to the OFF position.
5. Disconnect the F1, F2 and F5 protections by removing fuses.
6. If battery packs have been connected to the UPS unit, repeat the operations in
step 6 for the F1 and F2 protections in those packs.
7. Remove the protective plugs from the connection elements on the UPS unit and
any packs that may possibly be installed.
8. Disconnect the connection cables from the switchgear, UPS unit and the packs
(disconnect also any connection cables between packs). Leaving connected
cables with disconnected outputs is strictly prohibited!
9. Re-install the protective plugs.
10. Close the F1, F2, F5 fuse holder clamps on the UPS unit and F1 and F2 clamps
on the packs, if the fuses have been removed. Fuses should not be stored in the
UPS unit if the unit has not been installed.
When there is a need to add a single unit by connecting it to the operating system,
perform the following steps:
1. Check whether the F3 and F4 protections on the additionally connected unit are in
the OFF position. If they are not, move them to the OFF position.
