Terminate Lift Lines to the Drum
16
3. Thread the lift lines through the holes and pull them through the bottom of the hoist down
to the ground.
4. Remove the self-locking clevis pins from the SafeStop brake.
5. Slide the SafeStop brake down until it rests on the hoist extrusion and then secure with the
two self-locking clevis pins.
CAUTION:
If you trip the SafeStop device while threading lift lines through,
reset the SafeStop before you continue. Continuing to thread the lift lines
when a SafeStop device is tripped can damage the wire rope. To reset the
device, see
Ensure SafeStop Devices are Open on page 21
.
Step 3: Attach Stop Sleeves to Lift Lines
Note:
Before marking and trimming the lift lines:
•
Ensure the lift lines aren't twisted at any point in the run, especially around the
cable management attachment points
•
Pull the lift lines back and forth a few times to make sure the cable equalizer
plate is moving freely and you can feel the full motion of travel
Perform the following to attach your stop sleeves:
Cable Equalizer Plate
1. Pull the first lift line down until it is taut
and the cable equalizer plate is fully
rotated. Ensure it is plumb to the TwinLine
clamp.
2. Mark the lift line 228 mm (9 in) from the
bottom of the hoist extrusion using a
permanent marker.
3. Pull the second lift line down until it is taut
and the cable equalizer plate is fully
rotated. Ensure it is plumb to the TwinLine
clamp.
4. Mark the lift line 228 mm (9 in) from the
bottom of the hoist extrusion using a
permanent marker.
