Configure and Test Hoist Operation
Once you've confirmed motor orientation and hung the hoist, you should perform some
operational testing and set and test travel limits.
Verify Hoist Function
Once you have verified proper wiring and completed the E-stop circuit, you are ready to verify
hoist function. Check the entire work area for any obstructions, loose tools, debris, people or
other hazards that may interfere with the hoist operation.
1. Ensure that the power cable is plugged into the three-phase power receptacle in the hoist
motor box.
2. Verify that the hoist has power by checking the LEDs next to the local controls.
3. Ensure that all TwinLine sets are held taut.
4. Call out the intended movement direction of the hoist (such as "Hoist flying out!"). It is
important to alert anyone in the area of impending hoist movement.
5. Press the Control switch in the UP direction momentarily to verify the motor is phased
correctly.
6. Run the hoist up until it is hanging free and has some space between it and the lowest
point of conflict and release the control switch.
7. Press the Control switch in the DOWN direction.
8. Verify that the hoist is moving downwards.
CAUTION:
Do not run the hoist below its empty drum state, as there is no
more cable on the drum. Doing so can cause damage to the hoist.
