1.6.5.2 Roll Paper Button
• While holding down this button, turn the power on to perform Status (nozzle check
pattern) printing (nozzle check pattern).
• When no paper exists, press this button to feed the roll paper.
• When paper exists, press this button to move the paper to the TearOff position and
perform TearOff.
• When paper exists, press and hold this button for three or more seconds to back out
the paper.
• When paper is at the TearOff position, press this button to return from the TearOff
position.
1.6.5.3 Maintenance Button
If any of the following errors has occurred, press this button to cancel the error status or
display an instruction to cancel the error status.
• No ink

• No ink cartridge/abnormality
*
• No paper (cut sheet only)
• Paper jam
*Executes the Ink Cartridge Replacement utility.
1.6.5.4 Print Button
Press this button to start direct printing according to the preset conditions.
1.6.5.5 Cancel Button
• During direct printing, pressing this button stops printing immediately and ejects
paper.
• If this button is pressed while direct printing is not performed, all the previous panel
operations are canceled and the default settings are regained. If any document is
spooled for printing, the latest spooled values are regained.
• If an extension connector is selected, a folder selection display is displayed (only
when no printing is performed).
1.6.5.6 Up/Down Arrow Buttons
• Press the Up/Down arrow button to move the cursor (at the highlighted area) on the
panel display. Also, when inputting numbers, press the appropriate one of these
buttons to increase/decrease numbers.
• Pressing and holding one of these buttons activates the Key Repeat function.
1.6.5.7 Select Button
Press this button to perform the following processing according to the position of the
cursor (highlighted area):
• When the cursor is on the menu display, the menu list/number input display is
displayed.
• When the cursor is on the menu list/number input display, the set value is changed to
the item/number at which the cursor is placed, and then the display is closed.
1.6.5.8 Back Button
Press this button to perform the following processing according to the position of the
cursor (highlighted area):
• When the cursor is on the menu display, the initial display is displayed (the cursor
disappears).
• When the cursor is on the menu list/number input display, the set value is not
changed, and then the display is closed.
