When a Message is Displayed
If one of the following messages is displayed, read and follow the instructions below.

What to do
The media is not attached to the
roll core on the auto take-up reel
unit.
Attach the media.
Media has not been wound correctly on the auto take-up reel unit. Flip the Auto switch
on the auto take-up reel unit to Off, and then perform the following operations.
When the leading edge of the media has come off the take-up roll core
1. Use adhesive tape to securely stick the leading edge of the media to the take-up roll
core. The procedure varies depending on the take-up direction.

2. Flip the Auto switch on the auto take-up reel unit to Backward/Forward depending
on the take-up direction, and then press the
OK
button.
When an error is displayed during media take-up and printing
1. Press the
button on the control panel to feed the media, and then use scissors
or a commercially available cutter to cut the media after the final print out.
2. Remove the media from the take-up reel unit.

3. Place a new take-up paper core and use adhesive tape to securely stick the leading
edge of the media to the core.

Turn off the power and check
whether the Auto Take-up Reel
Unit is connected correctly.
After reconnecting the cable of the auto take-up reel unit to the printer, turn the
printer off and then on again.

The auto take-up reel unit is not connected. After reconnecting the cable of the auto
take-up reel unit to the printer, select
Yes
, and then turn the printer off and then on
again.

An unsupported media size has
been loaded.
The loaded media width is not supported. Press
Next
, and then remove the media.
Media for use in the printer must be at least 254 mm (10 in.) wide. Use media that is at
least 254 mm (10 in.) wide.
Should this message be displayed with media of a width that can be used in the
printer, you may be able to print if you select
Off
for
Width Detection
in the Printer
Setup menu.
