Cause
What to do
Condensation may occur.
Wait at least one hour before using the printer after moving it from a
cool to a warm environment.
The printer cannot print in the required quality level
because of insufficient memory, and the printer lowers
the quality automatically so that the printer can
continue printing.
Check to see if the printout is acceptable. If not, lower print quality
temporarily in the printer driver. If
RAM Disk
is set to
Maximum
or
Normal
on the control panel, you can increase the available memory
space by changing this setting to
Off
.
Vertical lines appear on the printout

The exposure window may be dusty.
Clean the exposure window. For details, see
There may be problems with the photoconductor
units or the fuser unit.
Print several pages to check if the quality of the printouts has
improved. If it has not improved, replace the replacement parts with
new parts in the following order:
- Photoconductor units
- Fuser unit
For information about replacing parts, see the instructions that
come with each replacement parts.
The printout is dark

What to do
There may be problems with the photoconductor
units or the fuser unit.
Print several pages to check if the quality of the printouts has
improved. If it has not improved, replace the replacement parts with
new parts in the following order:

The printout is not what you expected
Some part of the graphics or text looks different from what you see on the
computer screen

What to do
The printer emulation setting in your application may
be incorrect.
Make sure that your application is set for the printer emulation you
are using. For example, if you are using the ESC/Page mode, make
sure that your application is set to use an ESC/Page printer.
