9.3 Main Contactor
This truck is using DC contactors with normally-
open contacts. And the ON/OFF of the
contactors is controlled through controller, thus
to achieve the control of ON/OFF of the vehicle.
When the contactor coil is energized, the coil
current will create a magnetic field, making the
static stator core produce a steady magnetic
force to absorb the core and drive the contactor
actions: normally-opened contact connected, so
the circuit is disconnected.
When the contactor coil is powered off, the
magnetic force disappears, the pressure plate
is released along with the release of spring, and
the contact recovers: normally-opened contact
disconnected, so the circuit is disconnected.
9.3.1 Removal and Installation
Removal (For CPD30/35L1-S)

Remove the controller cover from the chassis
(see Section 9.1.1);
Remove the cables on the main contactor;
Unscrew the two screws (3, Fig3131-50014SM)
and remove the mounting plate (4) from the
chassis;
Unscrew the two screws (1) and remove the
main contactor (2) from the mounting plate
(3).
Installation
- Install according to the reverse order of rem-
oval.
Removal (For CPD30/35L1-B)

Remove the controller electrical mounting
plate from the chassis (see Section 9.1.1);
Remove the cables on the main contactor;
Unscrew the two screws (11, Fig3131-50008SM)
and remove the main contactor (12) from the
mounting plate (4).
