14. Maintenance and servicing
The steam generator requires regular maintenance depending on the intensity of use. The inte-
grated automatic descaling system increases the service intervals and reduces the maintenance
cost, however it does not make the steam generator maintenance-free.

Risk of damages to persons and to the device.
•
Maintenance may be carried out by an authorized and appropri-
ately skilled personnel.
•
Disconnect the steam generator from power before any mainte-
nance and servicing works.
•
Make sure to observe servicing intervals as given below.
•
Request an assistance from EOS or an authorized EOS dealer by
any questions.
Recommended servicing intervals
•
By domestic use - at least once per year.
•
By commercial use - at least twice per year or more if necessary depending on the situation,
water quality and intensity of use.
Scope of works for regular servicing:
•
Check condition of all connection tubes, clean if necessary
•
Check condition of the drain, remove scale deposits and clean if necessary
•
Check the level of the descaler liquid, replenish if necessary
•
Check condition of the tubes in all pumps, replace if necessary (by wear-out traces)
•
Remove the water level probe by undoing 3 screws, check condition and clean if necessary.
You can also check the inside of the water tank by this opportunity.
•
Open water tank and check inner surfaces for scale level. Clean if necessary. By excessive
limescale deposits take necessary steps to ensure that the steam generator is supplied with
soft water. In necessary check if the external water softening system is effective. If no water
softening system is available it may be required to be installed.
By excessive limescale you may use an optionally available filtering grill. Insert the grill into
the tank as shown on the page 17.
Hint: To facilitate the opening of the tank lid, loosen the hexagonal nut which secures the
steam pipe in the pivot joint at the lid. Move the pipe out of the joint. Now you can lift
the lid off the tank freely. Alternatively you can also loosen the steam pipe at the bottom.
•
Before closing the water tank check condition of the silicone sealing gasket. The gasket
needs replacement if worn out or damaged.
