TROUBLESHOOTING
Symptom
Solution
The LEDs of the power supply do not
illuminate when the unit is switched
on
• Check that the mains cord of the power supply is properly connected to the mains supply
• Check the power supply of the dental office
• Turn the power knob of the unit to ON and check if the LED is lit
• Replace the power supply
• Send the unit and the accessories to an approved EMS repair center
No irrigation flow when the foot
switch is pressed
• Turn the liquid flow rate knob
• Make sure that water comes in external device for the PM100
• Make sure that the bottle is properly installed for the PM200
• Disconnect the ultrasound handpiece and check that the liquid exits from the cord
• Use compressed air (max. 3 bar) and check that air comes out of the handpiece
• If the air does not come out of the handpiece send to an approved EMS repair center
• Check the connection of the foot switch
• Replace the foot switch
• Replace the filter for the PM100
• Replace the pump for the PM200
• Send the unit and the accessories to an approved EMS repair center
No ultrasound oscillations when the
foot switch is pressed
• Check that the handpiece is connected to the handpiece cord
• Control that the instrument is tight
• Check that the instrument is not cracked
• Check the connection of the foot switch
• Replace the foot switch
• Send the unit and the accessories to an approved EMS repair center
Ultrasound power decreasing or
inadequate
• Check that the selector is beyond the 4-position
• Control that the instrument is tight
• Check the wear of the instrument and replace if necessary
• Replace the handpiece
• Send the unit and the accessories to an approved EMS repair center
Water leaks between the handpiece
cord and the handpiece
• Replace the O-ring on the handpiece cord
• Replace the handpiece
• Send the handpiece to an approved EMS repair center
Only PM200:
Water leaks from the bottle or the
device
• Check the O-ring of the bottle cap
• Replace the bottle
• Send the handpiece to an approved EMS repair center
