Photograph Sensor Placement
for Source Localization
Lastly, if you will be creating head models for use in EGI’s GeoSource
software, you will need to take corroborating photographs of the GSN as
applied on the subject’s head.
If you will not be photographing the GSN on the subject’s head, you can
remove the GSN from the subject following the GSN’s instructions and
your facility’s protocols.
Whenever taking photographs, you need the subject’s written consent to be
photographed.
Guidelines for photographing the GSN on a subject’s head:
Use a high-resolution camera.
Photograph the fiducial points,
alignment sensors, and all
sensors.
As much as possible, photo-graph
points and sensors perpendicular
(at right angle) to their flat
surface.
Skewed points and sensors misrepresent
their true positions.
Ensure that each of the head’s landmarks are captured in at least
two pictures, including the fiducials (nasion and right and left
preauriculars), vertex (REF/Cz), ears, cheeks, and neck.
When complete, remove the GSN from the subject following the GSN’s
instructions and your facility’s protocols.
