6.3.8 Independent pump operation
The metering pump can also be operated independently of water pressure or water pulses.
The selection operating mode can be used to set the frequency internally.
This setting is provided for
emergency operation
, eg in the event of a malfunction in the
water meter or processing electronics system for water meter pulses.
ATTENTION
This setting is only for emergency operation, because of the danger that the pump works
against closed systems and gets damaged.
6.3.9 Setting the concentration of the lubrication solution
The concentration setting is made at the diaphragm metering pump over pulse divisor/
-multiplicator and over the metering quantity per stroke.
At the concentration setting do the following instructions:
a. Define
required concentration
(eg 0,8%).
b.
Select maximum concentration
Remembering that:
Maximum present concentration
≥
required concentration
The preset maximum concentration is set via pulse divisor or multiplier at the pump.
Afterwards you make a precise stroke setting.
c. The required stroke setting can be calculated using the formula shown below:

) there is a present maximum concentration of 1,3% and a flow range
of 50-550 l/h. The pulse multiplier has to be set “2”, acc. to table chapter

Summery:
For a required concentration of 0,8% at the metering pump the pulse multiplier must be set
to “2” and the stroke to 62%.
ATTENTION
The stroke may be set only while the system is in operation.
NOTE
Setting the concentration with a higher level of precision would require a chemical
concentration determination procedure.
There are a wide range of conveyor track lubricants, which also means that there are a
number of different determination methods (see product data sheets for conveyor track
lubricants).
