5.4.3 Analogue inputs
The process image ( PI ) for the analogue inputs of the controller (for details see chapter
) consists of unsigned 16-bit values. Different characteristic curves are implemented depending
on whether current or voltage inputs are used. This also ensures compatibility with the Eckelmann controller
ELC5x.
The following table shows the relationships and gives examples of values for the pairs of the measured value
and the associated value in the process image:

The characteristic curves are linear and limited to a minimum of 0 and, depending on the measuring range, a
maximum of 32000 or 32736.
Examples:
Voltage
: If U = 5 V is applied to the analogue voltage input, the PI value = 16000 is displayed in the process
image.
Current
: If a current of I = 12 mA is applied to the analogue current input, the PI value = 19644 is displayed
in the process image.
