To ensure a satisfactory installation sequence and quality, the Power
Xpert XGIS switchgear vertical sections’ installation should be performed
under the supervision of trained and qualified field engineers.
The vertical section circuit breaker is shipped with its contacts open
and closing springs in discharged state. The mechanical indicators on
the front panel will indicate this.
Charge the closing springs by pumping the manual charging handle
up and down approximately 25 times until a crisp metallic “click”
is heard. This indicates that the closing springs are charged and is
shown by the closing spring “charged” (yellow) indicator. Operate
the push-to-close button.
The breaker will close as shown by the breaker contacts “closed”
(red) indicator. Operate the push-to-open button. The breaker will
open as shown by the breaker contacts “open” (green) indicator.
After completing this initial check, leave the closing springs
“discharged” and breaker contacts “open”.
