Commissioning
Open the housing cover of the remote access box.
Switch on supply voltage
–
All the LED segments are activated for approx. 5 seconds directly
after switching power on to make sure that the display is
functioning correctly ("lamp test"). During this period, internal test
routines are run in the remote access box.
–
"RAB" will then flash on the display for a period of approx.
60 seconds. During this time, it is not possible to access all
the menus.
–
After approx. 65 seconds, the remote access box is ready for
operation and changes to standby mode (see page 28).
Change into operation for maintenance (see page 29) to check
the communication between remote access box and gas
transmitter.
Reassemble the housing cover of the remote access box –
ensuring that it is free of dust – and refasten the cover screws.
CAUTION
There is no dust explosion protection after opening the cover of the
energised remote access box. The hazardous area has to be
temporary de-classified if necessary.
Menu structure
The remote access box Dräger
RAB 7000 is equipped with
a three-digit 5x7 dot matrix
display and two keys (
▲
key
and
▼
key) which can be used
to navigate through the menus
described.
Pressing both keys
simultaneously results in an OK
function, indicated as "keys (
▲
+
▼
)" in the following.
The
▼
key is also marked with an M to indicate that you can press
this key to go from operation for maintenance to the calibration menu
or the configuration menu.
Both these menus can only be exited using the
▲
key.
Display and keys are accessible after opening the housing
(see diagram).
Notes on the display
Standby mode
In standby mode there is no communication (via the serial interface,
ICOM) between the remote access box and the gas transmitter.
During this time, the display shows a symbol for this mode using
a 2x2 dot matrix point.
CAUTION
There is no dust explosion protection after opening the cover of the
energised remote access box. The hazardous area has to be
temporary de-classified if necessary.
