4.6.17  Pre-curing  

Purpose 

Pre-curing of the ink applied by the first three rows of print heads by 
means of chemical cross-linking on the surface. 

 

Technical realization 

The ink that was last applied is cured on the surface by UV light on the 
way between the adjoining print heads to the point that it cannot mix with 
the next ink to be applied. 
Conversion of short ink molecules into long-chain, chemically and mechan-
ically resistant macro-molecules when subjected to UV light.
