WEB SERVER PORT: is the port where the Server will be reachable. The default one is numbero 80.
However, in some cases for network reason the port can be changed (for example 8080 or 81 can be normal
values). Please contact the Network Administrator for this parameter.
DHCP Server: Normally this check box should be on
OFF
because you‟ll access to the system by local
connection or with LAN connection. In any case if you‟d like to connect your PC directly to the Server using
cross Ethernet cable you can enable DHCP server (ON position) before connecting the cable. In this way,
XWEB gives to your PC the right LAN configuration.
2.2.4.6
MODEM
Next window allows you to setup the modem connection. XWEB uses the modem to send faxes and in same
cases also e-mails. In the first case the unit itself can send a fax, while in the second case you may need to
setup a dial-up connection (next step). Please remember that only modems approved by Dixell can be used.
You can get more information and ordering codes reading APPENDIX E.
2.2.4.6.1 XWEB MODEM
When XWEB modem is in use, it is important to choose the country according to the real country where XWEB
is installed. From the drop down menu “Serial Modem”, choose your model (internal or external one). As soon
as the user selects the XWEB modem, the country drop down menu is enabled. Please choose you country to
avoid modem malfunctioning. If your country is not available in the supported list, please contact Dixell.
2.2.4.7
DIALUP
If you have setup a modem type, next window ask you to setup a dial-up connection. It may happen that
XWEB is directly connected to an intranet/lan but the unit (due to the network topology) can not reach a valid
SMTP server (read e-mail setup in this guide). In this case may be useful to make a temporary internet
connection using the modem. You need a valid internet account, with the telephone number of your ISP, log-in
name and password. In case of need XWEB will make a call to the ISP and send the e-mails.
