12.2.6 Update the CPLD software
The CPLD is onboard programmable either with the onboard programming circuit or an external JTAG
programmer connected to J18.

To update the Xilinx XC95144XL-TQ144 CPLD on the MSEP800 board
1) Close the jumper J13 to enable the onboard LPT to JTAG programming interface.
2) Each user must register with Xilinx http://www.xilinx.com/support/download.htm
Click on the WebPACK ISE link and register.
Download the complete programming tool ~44 MBytes.
Install the software to a MSEP800 drive.
3) Copy the programming directory CPLD with all subfiles to a MSEP800 drive.
(Location of the CPLD directory: X:\products\msebx\tools_855\…
4) Double click on the Command.bat batch file or
open a Command Prompt DOS Window and change to the MSEP800\CPLD directory.
In batch mode the following command line options are available:
CPLD.bat -status Information about version.
CPLD.bat -update Updates the CPLD with the latest compatible version.
CPLD.bat -backup Restore backup version, saved by -status command.
5) Open the jumper J18 to disable the onboard LPT to JTAG programming interface.
This update software is tested under Windows XP and Windows 2000.
Probably it is necessary to press <F2> key during powerup to enter the BIOS setup and set in the Advanced
\ I/O Device Configuration submenu the Parallel port mode to Bi-directional.
