Data Bit 8
The Data Bit 8 parameter allows access to the extended ASCII character set.
Normally, this parameter is enabled. When this parameter is disabled, the
printer interprets bit 8 of each incoming data character as a zero, regardless
of its actual setting.
PI Ignored
The PI (Paper Instruction) signal is used to control vertical paper motion.
When the PI Ignored parameter is set to Enable it determines how the printer
interprets the PI signal.
•
Enable (the default) causes the printer to interpret the associated data
character as a vertical motion command value Refer to the LG
plus
Series

TM
Programmer’s Reference Manual
(P/N EK–LGPLE–RM) for more information on programming and using
the EVFU.
•
Disable causes the printer to ignore the PI signal and interpret the associated
data character as text.
Data Polarity
The Data Polarity parameter must be set to match the data polarity of your
host computer.
•
Standard (the default) does not invert the data.
•
Inverted inverts the data received on the data lines from the host
computer. Ones become zeros, and vice-versa.
Data Request Polarity
The Data Request Polarity parameter must be set to match the data request
polarity of your host computer.
•
Standard (the default) does not invert the request signal.
•
Inverted inverts the request signal sent to the host computer.
Strobe Polarity
The Strobe Polarity must be set to match the data strobe polarity of your host
computer. When the host computer sends a data strobe signal to the printer,
this enables the printer to read the data bus.
•
Standard (the default) does not expect the data strobe signal to be inverted.
•
Inverted expects the host computer to invert the data strobe signal.
