Rules For Safe Operation
Warning – To avoid possible el ectric sho ck or personal injury, and to avoid possible damage to the
Meter or to the equipment under test, adh ere to the following rules.
l
Bef ore using the Met er inspect the case. Do not use t he Met er if it is damaged or the cas e (or part of the cas e) is
rem oved. Look f or cracks or missing parts. Pay attention to the insulation around the connectors.
l
Inspect the test leads f or damaged ins ulation or ex pos ed metal. Check the test leads for continuity. Replace
dam aged test leads with identical model number or electric al specifications bef ore using the Meter.
l
Do not apply more than the rated v oltage, as marked on the Met er, bet ween the terminals or between any
terminal and grounding.
l
The rotary switch s hould be placed in t he right pos ition and no any changeover of range shall be m ade during
meas urement is conduct ed to prevent damage of the Meter.
l
When the Meter working at an effective v oltage over 60V in DC or 30V rms in AC, s pec ial care should be tak en
f or there is danger of electric shock.
l
Use the proper terminals, function, and range for your measurem ents.
l
Do not us e or st ore the Met er in an environment of high temperat ure, humidity , explosive, inf lamm able and strong
magnetic field. The perf ormance of the Meter may deteriorat e af ter dampened.
l
When us ing the t est leads, keep y our fingers behind the f inger guards.
l
Disconnect circ uit power and discharge all high-voltage capacitors bef ore testing resist anc e, continuity , diodes,
capacitance or current.
l
Bef ore measuring current, check the Met er’s f uses and turn of f power to the circuit bef ore connecting the Meter t o
the circ uit.
l
Replace the battery as soon as t he battery indic ator " - + " appears. With a low battery, the Meter might produce
f alse readings that can lead to electric shock and pers onal injury .
l
Rem ove test leads and t emperature probe f rom the Meter and t urn the Meter power of f before opening the Meter
case.
l
When servicing t he Meter, use only the same model number or identic al electrical specif ications replacement
parts.
l
The internal circ uit of the Met er shall not be alt ered at will to av oid damage of the Meter and any accident.
l
Sof t cloth and mild detergent should be used to clean the s urface of the Met er when serv icing. No abrasive and
solv ent should be us ed to prevent the surf ace of the Met er f rom corrosion, damage and accident.
l
The Meter is suitable for indoor us e.
l
Turn the Meter power off when it is not in use and take out the battery when not using f or a long time.
l
Constantly check the battery as it may leak when it has been using f or s ome time, replace the battery as soon as
leak ing appears. A leaking battery will damage the Meter.
