Engine Mount
1. General
The engine is mounted to the airframe via the engine mount and the shock mounts. The mount
consists of a welded steel tube frame which is mounted to the firewall using bolts and self locking nuts.
The bolts must be re-torqued at the intervals specified in Chapter 5.
The shock mounts are located between the engine and the engine ring mount to reduce the vibration
transmission from the engine to the airframe.
2. Description
The engine mount is electrically grounded to the firewall by a ground strap. The engine is attached to
the engine mount with shock mounts, which consist of a rubber element and a spacer tube. The rubber
elements are secured against twisting by pre-tension within the bushings.
Attached to the engine mount are different mounting brackets for oil, coolant radiators, oil tank, as well
as mounting provisions for various cables and hoses.
