Obtaining an IP address through DHCP
If you need to use DHCP for the gateway IP address, follow these steps:

Set up the DHCP server so the hostname and IP address assigned to the CX Video Gateway is
predetermined, for example, based on the gateway's MAC address.

Assign IP address 192.168.0.2 to the computer that will access the Vision™ Console.

Connect the Vision™ Console computer to eth0 on the CX Video Gateway either directly using a
crossover cable, or through a standalone Ethernet hub.

Enter the following URL from an Internet Explorer or Mozilla browser on the Vision console
computer:
http://192.168.0.1
You can also enter this URL from the CX Video Gateway after connecting a mouse, keyboard,
and monitor to the gateway.

Log into the Vision™ Console using the following information:

User: admin
•
Password: vision
The Overview page appears.

Click
Host IP information
in the Configuration menu.
The Host IP information page appears.

Select
Enable DHCP
in the DHCP setting field.

Click
Submit
.

Connect the CX Video Gateway to the network.

Once the CX Video Gateway has acquired its IP address and is reachable through a ping, access
the Vision™ Console.

Click
Services
on the Operations menu.

Click
Reboot
, and wait for the system to restart before continuing.
